After a succesfull start in 2007 and 2008 the 3rd Leiden Chess Tournament is being organized.
The organization is in hands of the Stichting Denksportpromotie Nederland, a foundation for mindsports. The tournament is sponsored by H.L. Druckerfonds and Stichting Kasteel Oud Poelgeest (and about 10 other sponsors).
The tournament will take place in the Leiden Denksportcentrum, from
9 - 19 July 2009.
The opening for LCT 2009 will be in Oegstgeest at July 9th. The schedule is Swiss nine rounds, according to FIDE rules (two bye's possible in the first six rounds). For both groups A and B KNSB rating points and obtained FIDE ratings will be forwarded to the FIDE organization.
The total amount will be 4000 euro (at minimum of 120 players),
first prices will be: A-group 1750 euro and B-groep 500 euro.
